The British National Mountaineering
Exhibition
This exhibition opened its doors in July 2001 in the
Rheged Centre at Penrith, Lake District.
Inter2Face was responsible for the complete audiovisual
hardware implementation. We installed a fully automated
audiovisual installation.
Video servers are operated by our show control product,
the PC CPC. All the video sources are treated as functional
scripts. This includes for instance the start of the
projectors and monitors as well as activating the "screen
save" and "lamp save" modus through an infrared motion
detection system.
On a second level, the creative automation, we manipulate
sound effects and lighting in a synchronized manner
with the images. The infrared motion detectors are used
to start sounds and video sequences at a precise moment.
In 2003 we did some modifications in the light of
a new theme: the 50th anniversary of the first ascent
of Mount Everest.
The installation has been functioning fully automatically
and continuously from June 2001 till the end of the
exhibition in 2008.
